Structured Dog Daycare

Does your dog need to get out of the house, and run and play with other dog friends? Are you worried that sending them to a regular dog daycare will teach them bad habits and undo all your training? Traditional daycare can be overstimulating for most dogs. Multiple hours of free play in overcrowded facilities can lead to more problems than they solve! We want what's best for your dog, so our structured enrichment daycare looks a little different than your average daycare. We implement a mix of structure, play, training, enrichment and down time. Your dog will come home happy, tired, and fulfilled from a day at Thriving Canines.

Play

We still do group play! It's not just a free for all at Thriving Canines. We pair play styles with intention, interrupt play often, and make sure we are advocating for all of the dogs. When we aren't wrasslin' we will get to do fun confidence building stuff like scent work and different play equipment.

Structure

We've all given our dogs to the front desk person and watched them get dragged down the hallway! Here, at Thriving Canines, we are trainers first and daycare attendants second. We will hold your dog accountable for manners, behaviors and implement training sessions throughout the day. We also provide down time as well. This allows the dogs to have a mental break and helps dogs learn to relax in a busy environment.

Enrichment

We've all heard the statement "A tired dog is a happy dog!" At Thriving Canines we not only work their bodies, but we work their minds with different enrichment activities and meditation work. Lick mats, scent work, and other food puzzles are given 2-3 times during the day to get those brains working.

Day Camp

Whether your dog is an older puppy who’s still working to master training skills or a recent rescue in need of a gentle introduction to group socialization, Day Camp is a more controlled approach to dog daycare. Your dog’s daycare visit is built around monitored small group play sessions, or no group play at all depending on your dog.

Day Camp’s controlled and managed environment is a great option for dogs who have never been to daycare or who may have struggled to adapt to daycare during a previous visit. This controlled setting can help slowly build your dog’s comfort with group play while offering ample chances to cool down and prevent overstimulation.

The goal is to see enough progress over time that your dog will eventually move to our Regular structure Daycare.

Board & Train

Board & Train is a specialized dog training program offered by many training centers and facilities. During this program, the dog is lodged at the trainer's facilities for a designated period, varying from one to several weeks, receiving intensive training.

Throughout the stay, the dog undergoes daily training sessions covering a range of skills, from basic commands such as sit, lie down, and come, to more advanced abilities like obedience in distracting environments. This method allows for complete immersion in training, providing a controlled setting to learn and practice desired behaviors.

The trainer takes charge of feeding, care, and primarily the execution of the training program. Upon completion of the designated period, the owner is guided on how to maintain and reinforce the training at home, with ongoing support and follow-up if needed.

This service is designed to expedite the dog's learning process, providing a solid foundation for the development of desired behavioral skills.

2 Week Program

After completing Level 1

Our board & train program will have your dog trained quickly in just 2 weeks. Your dog will live with one of our Trainers for 2 weeks and will work for 2-hours of training each day. Your dog will learn all of the commands in our 2-week board & train obedience program, plus a few extra commands to make your life easier!

We board, feed, train, and love your dog while they stay with us in a home environment. We start with all of the basic commands and then each day we introduce new distractions until your dog can follow through on the first ask in neighborhoods, on trails and in parks!

We start working with your dog in a low distraction environment. Once they have overwhelming success, we move on to more distracting environments! This includes neighborhoods, trails, and parks. At the end of the two weeks, your dog will obey all of their commands on-leash.

  • Obedience training & proofing
  • Pre-admittance phone consultation

About Us

Our goal is to help owners achieve the well-balanced, behaved and fulfilled dogs they deserve by increasing their knowledge and leadership skills. We do this by taking a balanced approach to dog training and a structured approach to daycare.

We take the time to assess the dog’s current domesticated lifestyle (state of mind, relationship with the owner, challenging behaviors) and evaluate the owner's goals in order to implement a realistic and effective behavior change plan in our training and daycare. We believe that one size does not fit all and recognize each dog as an individual who will require a uniquely tailored approach.

Our main goals are to: help owners cultivate a positive and balanced relationship with their dog, help dogs be on their best behavior, and set everyone up for success in the real world!

We offer services that help to address many challenging behaviors including: pulling on leash, reactivity, jumping, over-excitement, selective hearing, fear issues, crate anxiety, barking, counter surfing, separation anxiety and more. Our programs aim to meet the owner's goals and empower them to live the best possible life with their dogs.

We are here to help YOU achieve the dog you have always wanted!
